Pete Fine, well-known guitarist and composer of orchestral and chamber works for the past 40 years (and lead guitarist for Whole Lotta Zep), will be giving a recital of his 12-string guitar works, including a Duet for 12-string guitar & Violin and the very challenging Eight Preludes for 12-string Guitar.
The event will be at St Marks Presbyterian Church 3809 E 3rd at 7:30PM Saturday April 9th.
Admission is $8 in advance (Rainbow Guitars, Antigone books, and PayPal by contacting Pete at the email below) and $10 at the door.
His 12-string CD, Purple Winters and Past Lives, will also be available at the concert.
I’ve known Pete for many years. In fact he played at my wedding reception. Back in the day he also had a natural food restaurant on 4th Ave. He currently works at Rainbow guitar, http://www.rainbowguitars.com/MeetBioOne.aspx?sid=23
His compositions are complex, enlightening, and amazing. Besides being lead guitar for Whole Lotta Zep, he has performed whole concerts of Jimi Hendrix material, one concert great concert to benefit KXCI Community Radio. http://kxci.org
He also is a self-taught sitar player in the traditional Punjabi style (Punjab is a northern province in India).
This recital should not be missed. This will be a unique event of virtuoso 12-string guitar.
